The best Minecraft games, from Mojang spin-offs to Roblox

Minecraft itself is still the best Minecraft game, and it runs on phones. Next come Mojang's spin-offs, led by Minecraft Dungeons II, the minigame servers inside Minecraft, and Minecraft-style hits on Roblox. Here is each one and where it runs.

Minecraft games made by Mojang

Mojang Studios makes Minecraft and its spin-offs. Of these, only the main game is out on phones in the US.

Minecraft. The open-world sandbox: survive, build, explore. $6.99 once on the App Store and Google Play.
Minecraft Dungeons II. The new action RPG, out September 29, 2026 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Switch and Switch 2. Couch co-op and online cross-play.
Minecraft Dungeons. The 2020 dungeon crawler for up to four players. Its last content update came in November 2022.
Minecraft Legends. A 2023 strategy game: lead troops to defend the Overworld from piglins. Updates ended on January 10, 2024, but it is still sold.
Minecraft Blast. A free match puzzle game from King, the Candy Crush studio, with Mojang. As of November 2026 it is only in playtests in Australia, Canada and Malaysia.

Best Minecraft minigames to play with friends

Many players mean servers when they say Minecraft games. These run inside Minecraft. Bedrock servers work on phones, consoles and PC.

The Hive. A featured Bedrock server, known for Hide and Seek, Treasure Wars, Murder Mystery and SkyWars.
CubeCraft. A featured Bedrock server that also runs on Java, with SkyWars and BedWars.
Hypixel. The best-known minigame server, home of Bed Wars, SkyWars and SkyBlock. Java Edition only, so not on phones.
Realms. Mojang's paid server for your own world, from $3.99 a month. Realms Plus lets up to 10 friends play with you at a time.

Best Minecraft-style games on Roblox

Roblox is free on phones. These blocky games are not made by Mojang. Visit counts are from Roblox, checked November 4, 2026.

BedWars (Easy.gg). Guard your bed, break theirs. Based on the fan-made Minecraft minigame, with modes like SkyWars and Lucky Block, and over 11 billion visits.
Islands (Easy.gg). Build your own floating island, farm, raise animals and loot bosses. Over 2 billion visits.
SkyWars (Voxels Studio). Loot chests, bridge to other islands, be the last one standing.
The Survival Game. Medieval survival: find food, build shelter, form kingdoms with other players.
Miner's Haven. A sandbox tycoon from 2015. Build a mining base from over a thousand items.

Minecraft on mobile: free, offline and for kids

On a phone, the real pick is Minecraft itself. Android players can try it first: Mojang's free trial gives about 100 minutes in Survival and lists Android, not iPhone. Mojang says even the trial plays offline.

For kids, Mojang lists Minecraft as ESRB Everyone 10+. It is 9+ on the App Store.

Roam is an iPhone app with voxel games of its own: BLOCKSURVIVE (an empty hotbar and a tree to punch), Hold Till Dawn (build a wall, wait for the sun) and Raid the Hollow (a Minecraft Dungeons-style crawl). Roam is rated 13+ on the App Store.
