Garena Free Fire is a mobile battle royale published by Garena, released in 2017. Fifty players fight in matches of about ten minutes, and Free Fire MAX is its higher-graphics version. If you want another quick drop on your phone, these are the main options.
Why Free Fire took over phones
It is short, it is light, and it is free. Fifty players instead of a hundred means the action starts fast and a full match fits in a break. Battle royales for low-end phones
Free Fire itself is still the lightest of the big ones. For the others, lower the graphics and frame rate in settings, close other apps and keep some free storage, since these games grow with every update. A smaller game with fewer players is often a smoother choice than a big one on low settings.
Apex Legends Mobile was another option until it closed in 2023, so skip any old guides that list it.
