Games like Meowdoku

Meowdoku! by Oakever Games came out in May 2026 and was the #1 free game on the US App Store on October 24, 2026. You place cats on a grid by pure logic. If you like the rules but not the ads, these puzzles use the same thinking.

How Meowdoku works

Each puzzle is a grid split into colored regions. You put one cat in every region, no two cats can share a row or a column, and cats can't touch, not even at the corners. There is one correct answer and you reach it without guessing.

Those rules are not new. They match a classic puzzle type called Star Battle, and the daily Queens puzzle on LinkedIn uses the same rules with queens instead of cats. Players call it sudoku meets minesweeper because you rule out cells the way you do in both.

If ads are the problem

The most common complaint in Meowdoku reviews is ads. Queens and Simon Tatham's collection are the easiest ad-free swaps for the same kind of logic. Paid puzzle apps with one price, or games in a subscription service, are the other way out.

Questions people ask

What are the rules of Meowdoku?

One cat in each colored region, no two cats in the same row or column, and no two cats touching, even diagonally.

Is Meowdoku the same as LinkedIn Queens?

The rules are the same idea: one piece per row, column and color region, with no touching. Meowdoku uses cats and adds its own levels and look.
