Games like Count Masters: pick the gate, grow the crowd

Count Masters made the math-gate crowd runner famous: pick the gate that multiplies your crowd, then crash it into the rival army. Crowd City, Join Clash 3D and Mob Control play in a similar way, and Roam has two runners built on the same gates.

What Count Masters is

Count Masters is a mobile crowd runner from Freeplay, a studio in Minsk, released in May 2021. You run forward with a small group of stickmen. Gates add, subtract, multiply or divide your crowd, so you steer toward the best number. At the end of each level your crowd fights an enemy crowd and, finally, a castle.

It became one of the most-downloaded games of 2021, helped a lot by its ads. The ads made people wonder if the game really plays like that, and it mostly does.

How to win more crowd runner levels

Do the math before you swipe. A x2 gate beats a +20 gate only when your crowd is bigger than 20. Early in a level the plus gate is often better.

Keep your crowd tight. Spinning blades and walls cut off the people at the edges, so stay in the middle of the track. Save upgrades for the starting crowd size first, since every gate multiplies it.

Roam crowd runners

Roam is a free iPhone app. Both of these use math gates and an army that grows as you run.

Try: "crowd runner with math gates, my crowd is rubber ducks, the boss at the end is my teacher, 10 levels"
