Games like Rocket League when you want more car soccer

Car soccer has few true rivals. Turbo League is the closest copy on phones, Rematch brings the same team play to football on foot, and Trackmania trains the car control. Roam has an arcade team soccer game too.

Rocket League in one paragraph

Rocket League is Psyonix's car-soccer game from 2015. It went free to play in 2020, a year after Epic Games bought the studio. Rocket-powered cars boost, jump and fly to hit a giant ball into goals, usually three against three.

The skill ceiling is the hook. Aerials, flicks and wall shots take years to learn, and every match has a moment someone pulls one off. Before it, Psyonix made Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars for PS3 in 2008, the first version of the idea.

Tips that carry over from Rocket League

In any team ball game, rotation wins more than flashy shots. Stay spread out, let one player challenge the ball, and fall back when a teammate goes forward. In car games, save boost for defense: a full tank at your own goal is worth more than a missed aerial.

Make your own car soccer game with Roam

Pick the cars, the arena and the ball. Roam builds the match, and you can ask for more players or a bigger ball.

Try: "car soccer on the moon, low gravity jumps, a giant beach ball, 3v3, my friends drive the other cars"
