It Takes Two is a co-op-only adventure by Hazelight Studios. It came out in 2021 and won Game of the Year at The Game Awards that year. These games also need two people who talk to each other, and several work well for couples.

You play Cody and May, a couple turned into dolls, and each of you gets a different power in every chapter. One shoots sap, the other lights it. The mechanics change all the time, so it never settles into one routine. With the Friend's Pass, only one of you has to own the game.
