How Phasmophobia plays

Phasmophobia is a co-op ghost-hunting game by Kinetic Games, in early access since September 2020. Up to four players use EMF readers, spirit boxes, thermometers and cameras to collect evidence and identify the ghost type. The ghost can hear you through voice chat.

It came to PS5 and Xbox Series in October 2024. Kinetic Games now aims for 1.0 in the second half of 2027.

Tips for your first ghost hunt

Stay together until you know which room the ghost lives in. Write evidence down the moment you see it. When the lights flicker and the hunt starts, hide and stop talking: in Phasmophobia and Demonologist the ghost reacts to your voice.

Leave the van with a plan. A crew that splits up to cover more rooms usually loses someone.
