Games like PEAK for climbing crews

Chained Together is the closest game to PEAK: friends, a long climb and a lot of falling. Getting Over It and Only Up are the solo climbs that started the genre, and Roam has roped and summit climbs for iPhone.

What PEAK adds to climbing games

PEAK is a co-op climbing game by Aggro Crab and Landfall, released in June 2025. Up to four lost scouts climb a mountain on a strange island. You manage stamina, eat what you find and help each other up.

Before PEAK, most climbing games were solo rage games. PEAK made the climb social: you pull a friend up, or you watch them fall.

Climbing games with friends

Chained Together. A 2024 co-op climb where every player is chained to the others. One bad jump drags the whole team down.
Pogostuck: Rage With Your Friends. A pogo-stick climb with other players on the same mountain.
Tower of Hell (Roblox). A random tower obby with no checkpoints. Race your friends to the top.

Solo climbs that inspired the genre

Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy. A man in a pot with a hammer. Slow, hard and on phones too.
Only Up! SCKR Games' 2023 sky climb with no checkpoints. Later pulled from Steam by its developer.
Jump King. Charge a jump, land it or fall a long way back.

What makes a co-op climb work

If a game has all three of these, it will make good clips.

Shared risk. One player's mistake should cost the group something. That is where the yelling comes from.
A stamina or grip limit. A limit makes you plan the route instead of just holding forward.
Ways to help. Pulling a friend up or passing them food turns a solo skill test into teamwork.

Ascent: Frozen Summit. Peak by peak, all the way to the ice.
